The equipment represents a 3 DOF Helicopter constructed from scratch at UTFPR, Brazil. The aim is to study flight dynamics as an attempt to represent the dynamics of tandem helicopters. The equipment has some structural similarities with the one built by Quanser (see here).
The 3 DOF Helicopter. allows users to control the thrust in each of the two propellers. By doing so, the user can adjust the 3D position or control its movement even under disturbances.
Below you can see how it works in the laboratory at UTFPR, Brazil. The device was built by Umberto Xavier da Silva Neto under the supervision of Prof. Marcio A. F. Montezuma and Prof. Alessandro N. Vargas
